  1. HYPERCARD  CHAOS

  7. This is a Macintosh based introduction to the quantitative 
  8. appreciation and analysis of chaos for scientists.  It is aimed at 
  9. those who have a working knowledge of the mathematics 
  10. generally taught in the first few years of University study---in 
  11. particular, differential equations and matrix eigenvalues and 
  12. eigenvectors.
  13.  
  14. • To run this introduction you will need:  a Macintosh computer 
  15. with the Hypercard  application (of course);  and with the font 
  16. New century schoolbook  included in the system (enclosed);  but 
  17. not with Macromaker  in the system (and I have had trouble with 
  18. multifinder).  These last two problems are with the computer 
  19. demonstrations which are compiled with a rather old Pascal 
  20. compiler---other incompatibilities may exist which I am not yet 
  21. aware of.

  23. • The first thing that must be done is to unstuff the files onto a 
  24. hard disk using the application UnStuffIt (enclosed).  Then load 
  25. the font new century schoolbook  into the system if it is not 
  26. already there.

  28. • Then read the instuctions on use in the README  file in the 
  29. hyper-chaos  folder.
